This full-time, permanent position is scheduled to start in September 2026 and is open to both experienced teachers and enthusiastic Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, engaging Drama lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (with potential opportunities to support Key Stage 5 / A-Level cohorts).
  • Nurture students' artistic talents by exploring a diverse range of theatrical styles, practitioners, and dramatic texts.
  • Assess, track, and report on student progress and practical attainment in line with GCSE exam board specifications and school assessment policies.
  • Maintain an inspiring, collaborative, and structured classroom environment that encourages creative risk-taking and mutual respect.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school by supporting school productions, extracurricular drama clubs, and theater visits.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or QTLS, alongside a degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, Performing Arts, or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience: A proven track record of teaching drama within a UK secondary school setting (including successful ITT/PGCE placements).
  • Skills: Exceptional subject knowledge, confident classroom management techniques, and a strong ability to direct and inspire young performers.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
