The Role

  • Teach Computer Science across Key Stages 3–4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience
  • Deliver engaging lessons that develop computational thinking, programming skills and digital literacy
  • Inspire students to explore the wider impact of technology in society and the modern workplace
  • Plan and deliver well-structured lessons that challenge and support learners of all abilities
  • Assess student progress effectively and provide clear, constructive feedback
  • Prepare students thoroughly for GCSE examinations and coursework components
  • Contribute to the continued development of the Computer Science curriculum and digital learning initiatives
  • Support enrichment opportunities such as coding clubs, STEM events, robotics activities or digital competitions
  • Play an active role in the pastoral life of the school, including form tutoring where required

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds (or is working towards) Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has a degree in Computer Science or a closely related subject
  • Demonstrates strong subject knowledge, including programming and computing principles
  • Is able to inspire curiosity and enthusiasm for technology and problem-solving
  • Maintains high expectations for both academic achievement and behaviour
  • Is reflective and committed to continuous professional development
  • Works effectively as part of a collaborative and supportive teaching team
