The Role:

Lead and develop the Psychology and Sociology departments, driving high standards of teaching, learning and student achievement.

Deliver engaging and challenging lessons across the relevant key stages, including A-Level.

Develop and implement an ambitious curriculum that promotes critical thinking, independent learning and academic excellence.

Monitor student progress and attainment, using assessment data to identify areas for improvement and implement effective interventions.

Support, mentor and develop colleagues, sharing best practice and promoting a collaborative departmental culture.

Contribute to whole-school improvement initiatives and play an active role in the wider life of the school.
The Ideal Candidate:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and has a strong academic background in Psychology, Sociology or a related discipline.

Has proven experience teaching Psychology and Sociology, ideally at A-Level.

Demonstrates the ability to lead, motivate and inspire colleagues.

Possesses excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to high standards.

Is passionate about developing students’ analytical, evaluative and critical-thinking skills.
