Role Overview
The Exams Officer plays a critical role in delivering accurate, compliant, and efficient examination processes, ensuring students are fully supported throughout their assessment journey.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the administration of all internal and external exams, including GCSE, A Level, and mock examinations
- Managing exam timetables, entries, candidate registrations, and seating plans
- Coordinating with examination boards and staying up to date with JCQ regulations
- Recruiting, training, and supervising teams of invigilators
- Ensuring secure storage, handling, and return of exam papers
- Preparing exam rooms, materials, and resources to required JCQ standards
- Communicating exam arrangements clearly to staff, students, and parents
- Managing access arrangements in collaboration with the SEN department
- Overseeing post-results services, enquiries, and appeals
- Ensuring exam data is accurately inputted, analysed, and reported
This role requires exceptional accuracy, discretion, communication, and the ability to work under pressure during peak exam periods.

You will work closely with the Data Manager, Senior Leadership, and Heads of Department to ensure all examinations are delivered to the highest standard.
