A welcoming primary school in Reading is seeking an experienced School Business Manager to join its leadership team on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a central role in the day-to-day and strategic management of a friendly school community. Working closely with the Headteacher and Governors, you'll ensure the school's finances, operations, and support services run efficiently, allowing teachers to focus on delivering an outstanding education.

The Role

You'll oversee the school's business operations while supporting its long-term development and continued success.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading financial planning, budgeting, and monitoring

  • Managing HR administration and recruitment processes

  • Overseeing premises, facilities, and health & safety

  • Managing procurement and supplier contracts

  • Ensuring compliance with financial and statutory requirements

  • Leading administrative and support staff

  • Supporting the Headteacher with operational planning

The Successful Candidate
