An innovative and inclusive primary school in Theale, Reading, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher to join its professional teaching team. This is a full-time, permanent position, suitable for experienced teachers and newly qualified teachers (ECTs). The successful candidate will take responsibility for a class in either Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2, planning, delivering, and assessing lessons that engage, challenge, and inspire pupils while supporting their academic, social, and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities

- Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of pupils of varying abilities, including those with SEN or EAL
- Monitoring pupil progress using formative and summative assessments, adapting teaching accordingly
- Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, effort, and achievement
- Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development alongside academic progress
- Collaborating with Teaching Assistants, SEN staff, and school leadership to implement targeted interventions
- Participating in pupil progress meetings, curriculum planning, and school-wide initiatives
- Communicating effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress, achievements, and concerns
- Keeping accurate records of pupil performance, assessment, and behaviour
- Actively participating in staff meetings, CPD sessions, and professional development opportunities
- Upholding safeguarding, child protection, and school policies at all times
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has experience teaching in KS1 or KS2 (ECTs welcome)
- Demonstrates excellent classroom management and consistently applies positive behaviour strategies
- Is committed to inclusive education, supporting pupils from diverse backgrounds
- Can differentiate lessons effectively to meet the needs of all learners
- Is reflective, proactive, and committed to ongoing professional development
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills with pupils, parents, and colleagues
- Works collaboratively as part of a professional teaching team
- Is passionate about making a meaningful difference in children’s learning and development
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN, EAL, or additional learning needs is desirable but not essential.
