A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Pangbourne, Reading, is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Primary Teacher to join its professional teaching team. This is a full-time, permanent position, ideal for both experienced teachers and newly qualified teachers (ECTs). The successful candidate will take responsibility for a class in either Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2, planning, delivering, and assessing lessons that engage, challenge, and inspire pupils while supporting their academic, social, and emotional development.

  • Monitoring pupil progress using formative and summative assessments, and adapting teaching accordingly
  • Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, effort, and achievement
  • Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development alongside academic progress
  • Collaborating with Teaching Assistants, SEN staff, and school leadership to implement targeted interventions
  • Participating in pupil progress meetings, curriculum planning, and school-wide initiatives
  • Communicating effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress, achievements, and concerns
  • Keeping accurate records of pupil performance, assessment, and behaviour
  • Actively participating in staff meetings, CPD sessions, and professional development opportunities
  • Upholding safeguarding, child protection, and school policies at all times
The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for a Primary Teacher who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has experience teaching in KS1 or KS2 (ECTs welcome)
  • Demonstrates excellent classroom management and consistently applies positive behaviour strategies
  • Is committed to inclusive education, supporting pupils from diverse backgrounds
  • Can differentiate lessons effectively to meet the needs of all learners
  • Is reflective, proactive, and committed to ongoing professional development
