We are currently seeking a proactive, knowledgeable and customer-focused IT Technician to join a highly regarded Independent School in Reading. About the Role
As an IT Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the school’s IT systems. Responsibilities will include:
- Providing first-line technical support to staff and students
- Maintaining hardware, software, printers, AV equipment and classroom technology
- Troubleshooting network and connectivity issues
- Supporting the setup, configuration and maintenance of devices across the school
- Assisting with user accounts, permissions and access control
- Managing helpdesk tickets in a timely, professional manner
- Supporting school events requiring IT and AV input
- Ensuring the school’s IT systems are secure, efficient and reliable
You will work as part of an experienced IT Services Team, contributing to system improvements and ongoing technological development within the school.
Experience and Qualifications
- Previous IT support experience (school experience beneficial but not essential)
- Strong working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365, hardware troubleshooting and basic networking
- Familiarity with Apple devices, iPads or mobile device management (MDM) desirable
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organisational ability and problem-solving mindset
- Relevant IT qualifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco) advantageous but not essential
Salary
