Our Client is looking for a capable and detail-focused Finance Assistant to join a successful school in Reading on an ASAP basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with finance or accounts experience who would like to work within an education environment and become part of a professional school finance team.
The successful Finance Assistant will provide support across the school's financial administration, helping to ensure that transactions, invoices, payments and financial records are processed accurately and efficiently. The role would suit someone who is confident working with figures, highly organised and comfortable handling confidential financial information.
Depending on experience, the successful candidate may support purchase and sales ledger processes, invoice processing, reconciliations, expenses, payments, financial records and general finance administration. Experience of working within a school environment would be beneficial, although candidates from other finance or accounts settings with strong transferable skills are encouraged to apply.

The finance function plays an important role in ensuring that the school's resources are managed effectively and that financial processes are completed accurately and in accordance with the school's procedures.
The successful Finance Assistant will work closely with colleagues across finance and administration and will have the opportunity to develop their experience within the education sector. The school is looking for someone who is dependable, numerate and able to work accurately while managing a varied workload.
Experience and Qualifications

Previous experience in finance, accounts or financial administration.

Strong numerical and analytical skills.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Experience with invoices, payments, reconciliations or general ledger administration would be advantageous.

Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to handle confidential financial information appropriately.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.

Previous school finance experience would be beneficial but is not essential.

Legal ability to work within the UK.
