A prestigious secondary school in Reading is seeking an exceptional, highly discreet Executive Assistant to the Headteacher to provide confidential administrative leadership for an immediate (ASAP) start.
Job Overview
Executive support plays a pivotal role in the strategic leadership of the school. The successful applicant will act as the confidential first point of contact for the Headteacher, managing a complex diary, drafting high-level communications, coordinating governor meetings, and overseeing executive office operations.
Working directly alongside the Headteacher and Governors, you will manage diary appointments, organize senior leadership agendas, prepare briefing dossiers, and liaise with key external stakeholders. This is a full-time, 52-week ongoing or permanent role.
Key Responsibilities

Provide high-level, confidential executive assistant support to the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team

Manage the Headteacher’s complex diary, scheduling appointments, panel interviews, and external engagements

Draft, edit, and proofread high-level correspondence, governor reports, speech notes, and school policies

Organize and clerk senior leadership team meetings, taking accurate minutes and tracking action items

Act as a gatekeeper and ambassador for the Headteacher when liaising with parents, inspectors, and local authorities

Coordinate logistics for school inspection visits (Ofsted), governors' meetings, and leadership conferences

Candidate Requirements

Proven experience as a Personal Assistant, Executive Assistant, or Senior Administrator to a Headteacher or Executive Director

Outstanding shorthand/minute-taking skills and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

Impeccable written English, editorial skills, and executive-level organizational abilities

Complete discretion, diplomacy, and the ability to work under high pressure with complete confidentiality
