Role Overview
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining the continuity of students' education during teacher absences. You will step into pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, taking charge of the classroom, managing behavior, and ensuring pupils complete the work set by absent department staff.
This position is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, youth workers, or experienced classroom managers looking for flexible, immediate day-to-day work or full-time block bookings without the responsibility of lesson planning or marking.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise pre-set lessons across diverse secondary subjects in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4

Create a safe, purposeful, and structured learning environment in every classroom

Enforce each school's individual behavior policy consistently and manage classroom dynamics calmly

Distribute learning materials, explain set instructions clearly, and assist pupils with their tasks

Complete electronic attendance registers accurately at the start of every lesson

Collect completed student work and leave clear handover notes for the returning class teacher
