A friendly and well-established primary school in Reading is looking to appoint a Caretaker to join the team from September 2026. This is a full-time, long-term position for someone who takes pride in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-presented school environment. The Role
The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day upkeep of the school premises, ensuring the buildings and grounds remain safe, secure, and well maintained. Responsibilities include:
- Opening and locking the school site
- Carrying out minor repairs and general maintenance
- Completing routine health and safety inspections
- Maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the school grounds
- Setting up halls and classrooms for meetings and events
- Liaising with contractors and reporting maintenance issues
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the school site
