This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Science Teacher ready to step into leadership, or an existing 2iC Science, to play a key role in driving standards and supporting departmental development.
The successful 2iC Science will teach Science across KS3–KS5 while supporting the Head of Department in leading a large and high-achieving team.
The RoleThe school is looking for a motivated and forward-thinking 2iC Science who can support the strategic and operational leadership of the department while maintaining excellent classroom practice.
Key responsibilities of the 2iC Science include:- Supporting the Head of Science in leading the department across KS3–KS5
- Teaching Science, with specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
- Assisting with curriculum development, assessment, and quality of teaching
- Monitoring student progress and implementing strategies to raise attainment
- Mentoring and supporting teachers, including ECTs within the department
- Contributing to departmental planning and whole-school initiatives
