About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Psychology Teacher to join a school in Peterborough at the earliest opportunity. This is an exciting position for a teacher who enjoys exploring the scientific study of human behaviour and helping students develop the analytical skills needed to evaluate psychological explanations and research.

The successful candidate will teach Psychology at the relevant key stages, with the precise allocation depending on the school's curriculum and timetable. Responsibilities may include delivering GCSE and/or A-Level Psychology, planning lessons in line with the relevant examination specifications and preparing students for assessments.

You will help students understand key psychological approaches, research methods, theories and studies. Lessons should encourage pupils to question assumptions, interpret evidence, compare explanations and develop well-structured arguments. Clear modelling and regular practice will be important in helping students strengthen their evaluation skills and examination technique.

The role will involve assessing work, monitoring attainment and identifying areas where students may need further support. You will provide constructive feedback, adapt teaching to different learning needs and help pupils build confidence when tackling complex ideas.

The school is looking for a teacher who can make Psychology engaging and relevant while maintaining high academic expectations and promoting independent learning.

Psychology helps students understand individual and group behaviour, social relationships and the research methods used to investigate human experience.
