We are seeking an enthusiastic, practical, and highly skilled Design and Technology Teacher with expertise in Product Design and Resistant Materials, to join the successful faculty at a well-regarded secondary academy in the Hillingdon area of West London. This is a full-time, permanent position starting immediately.
The successful applicant will be an inspirational and highly effective DT specialist dedicated to fostering creativity, practical workshop skills, and sophisticated design thinking in our students. You will be instrumental in delivering the curriculum using a variety of materials (wood, metal, plastics) and processes, ensuring safe and effective use of workshop equipment. This role focuses on outstanding classroom practice and achieving excellent results, particularly at A-Level Product Design.
We Are Looking For:
- A qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
- A proven track record as an excellent Design and Technology Teacher with a specialization in Resistant Materials and Product Design.
- Mandatory experience teaching Product Design to Key Stage 5 (A-Level).
- Expert proficiency with workshop machinery, tools, and the relevant health and safety (COSHH) procedures.
- The ability to integrate CAD/CAM technology into practical projects.
- A genuine passion for design, making, and inspiring students of all abilities.
Salary and Benefits:
- Main Pay Scale/Upper Pay Scale (MPS/UPS) for Teachers.
- The base salary will be paid according to experience within the statutory Outer London Pay Scale (The Outer London Main Pay Range minimum is approximately £37,870 as of September 2025).
- A fixed Recruitment and Retention (R&R) Allowance of £2,000 per annum.
