A brilliant and well-regarded primary school in Royal Tunbridge Wells is seeking an experienced and proactive Premises Manager to join the school on a full time, permanent basis as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity to take responsibility for the smooth running, safety, and maintenance of a welcoming and well-maintained school environment. The Premises Manager will play a key role in ensuring the site remains safe, secure, and fully operational for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing the day-to-day maintenance and security of the school site
- Carrying out regular health & safety checks, including fire alarms and emergency lighting
- Managing site compliance, risk assessments, and record keeping
- Coordinating contractors and overseeing site-related projects
- Ensuring the cleanliness and presentation of buildings and grounds
- Supporting school events and occasional out-of-hours requirements
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous experience in a Premises Manager, Site Manager, or Caretaker role
- Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations and site compliance
- Practical maintenance and DIY skills
- The ability to manage contractors and prioritise workload effectively
- A proactive, reliable, and professional approach
- Strong organisational and communication skills
