Job Overview
Music is a vibrant pillar of the school community. The successful applicant will deliver high-quality practical and theoretical Music instruction across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE Music / Vocational Music Practice), with potential Key Stage 5 A-Level Music / Music Technology teaching for a suitably qualified candidate.
Working alongside specialist educators and visiting peripatetic instrumental tutors, you will guide students through keyboard skills, vocal performance, ensemble practice, composition, and digital production. This is a full-time, permanent position.
Key Responsibilities

Teach inspiring Music lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE / Vocational Music)

Guide pupils through composition tasks using digital audio workstations (e.g., Logic Pro, Sibelius, GarageBand)

Direct and support extra-curricular ensembles, choirs, rock bands, and seasonal school concert productions

Assess, track, and report on pupil progress across practical performance, coursework portfolios, and listening exams

Maintain practice suites, recording technology, and instrument inventories safely

Fulfill pastoral duties as a Form Tutor, supporting pupil wellbeing and academic tracking

Collaborate with faculty members to continuously enhance schemes of work and performance opportunities

Candidate Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognized UK teaching credentials (PGCE / SCITT)

Proven track record (or clear potential during training) for delivering strong GCSE/Vocational Music outcomes
