Job Overview

Known for its thriving arts provision and vibrant student exhibitions, this school seeks an artist-educator to teach Fine Art, Printmaking, and Digital Media across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (GCSE), and Key Stage 5 (A-Level).

Working closely with the Art department, you will guide pupils through concept development, technical execution, visual analysis, and portfolio curation. This is a full-time, permanent role suited to an energetic, creative, and proactive educator.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach inspiring practical Art lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (GCSE), and Key Stage 5 (A-Level)

  • Guide Sixth Form pupils through creative portfolio development for entry into top university art programs and foundation courses

  • Curate, organize, and host annual student art exhibitions, gallery showcases, and community art displays

  • Maintain studio environments, ceramics machinery, print presses, digital design tools, and hazardous materials safely

  • Assess, track, and report on pupil progress, preparing Key Stage 4 and 5 cohorts for practical non-exam assessments (NEA)

  • Act as a Form Tutor, supporting student wellbeing, academic tracking, and holistic progress

  • Collaborate with departmental colleagues to update schemes of work and art history contextual resources

  • Support the day-to-day operations and growth of the Expressive Arts faculty

  • Proven track record (or clear potential during training) for delivering strong GCSE and A-Level Art outcomes

  • Superb classroom management and individual portfolio mentoring skills

  • A passionate, creative, and adaptable approach to visual arts education
