The Role
- Teach Religious Studies across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that explore a range of religions, beliefs, and ethical issues
- Encourage students to think critically, reflect deeply, and engage in respectful debate
- Support students of all abilities through inclusive and differentiated teaching
- Prepare students for GCSE Religious Studies examinations
- Contribute to the development of schemes of work and departmental resources
- Support extracurricular opportunities such as debate clubs, enrichment activities, or themed events
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Play an active role in the pastoral life of the school, including form tutoring
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds (or is working towards) Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has a degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy, or a related subject
- Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a passion for Religious Education
- Is eager to develop their teaching practice as an Early Career Teacher
- Has high expectations for student achievement and behaviour
- Is reflective, open-minded, and committed to ongoing professional development
- Works well as part of a collaborative and supportive team
