A forward-looking Good primary in Peterborough is seeking a strong and experienced Year 6 Teacher to lead the upper KS2 cohort from January 2026. The successful Year 6 Teacher will take part in planning prior to January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and commence teaching from January 2026.

This Full-Time Year 6 Teacher role is aimed at a teacher with the ambition to drive outcomes, design ambitious curriculum sequences and support effective transition to secondary school.

  • Design rigorous revision programmes and curriculum sequences in maths and English.
  • Lead targeted booster groups and personalised interventions.
  • Analyse assessment data to inform teaching and adapt sequences.
  • Coordinate transition evenings, liaise with secondary schools and prepare comprehensive handover documentation.

The Year 6 Teacher will be supported by a senior leadership team that provides coaching and CPD from induction in January 2026. The Year 6 Teacher will be encouraged to take on subject leadership responsibilities, mentor colleagues and lead moderation activities in the weeks following January 2026. The Year 6 Teacher will be part of a school culture which emphasises wellbeing, high expectations and continual professional learning.

The Year 6 Teacher will create routines that promote independence and resilience, run daily targeted sessions that consolidate curriculum learning and lead enrichment activities that extend pupils' cultural capital. The Year 6 Teacher will also be involved in parents’ evenings, data reviews and transition planning beginning before January 2026 and continuing after January 2026.
