Responsibilities:

The Year 1 Teacher will plan and deliver systematic phonics, guided reading, early writing and number lessons. The Year 1 Teacher will use assessment to identify gaps, run small-group interventions and communicate progress to families. As the Year 1 Teacher, you will contribute to enrichment, lead local trips and work with phase leaders on moderation from the weeks before January 2026 and throughout the term after January 2026. The Full-Time Year 1 Teacher will be expected to attend parents’ evenings and support transition into Year 2 following the January 2026 start.

Requirements:

  • QTS and recent KS1 experience as a Year 1 Teacher.
  • Strong phonics practice and proven classroom management for a Year 1 Teacher.
  • A collaborative, reflective Year 1 Teacher ready to begin pre-term planning and induction in the run-up to January 2026 and teach full-time from January 2026.
