Site Supervisor

A well-established Secondary School in Peterborough is seeking a reliable and proactive Site Supervisor to join its experienced premises team on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who takes pride in maintaining high standards and enjoys working in a varied, hands-on role. The successful candidate will play an important part in ensuring the school site remains safe, secure and fully operational for students, staff and visitors.

You will be responsible for carrying out daily opening and closing procedures, completing routine site inspections and responding promptly to maintenance requests. Working closely with the Site Manager, you will undertake minor repairs, monitor health and safety standards and ensure classrooms, communal areas and external grounds remain well maintained throughout the school year.

You will also supervise contractors working on site, prepare facilities for examinations, assemblies, performances, parents' evenings and sporting events, while ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently.

The role includes supporting planned maintenance programmes, monitoring security systems, assisting with deliveries, maintaining site equipment and contributing to the overall presentation of the school environment.

The successful candidate will have strong practical skills, excellent organisational abilities and the ability to work independently while maintaining consistently high standards.

Requirements

  • Previous Site Supervisor, Caretaker or Facilities experience desirable

  • Good practical maintenance and repair skills

  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures

  • Excellent organisational skills

  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
