CORE PURPOSE
We require an inspiring, creatively driven Drama Teacher to deliver outstanding theatrical and performance instruction across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with opportunities to contribute to post-16 advanced performance pathways. Operating within a highly successful, oversubscribed all-through academy with an exceptional regional reputation, the successful candidate will facilitate an ambitious, text-focused and practical curriculum designed to foster deep conceptual understanding of diverse theatrical styles, performance methodologies, and technical design, preparing all pupils thoroughly for exceptional outcomes in terminal GCSE Drama public examinations.

Rigorous & Performance-Led Instruction: Plan, resource, and deliver high-impact Drama lessons across all attainment pathways, systematically embedding physical theatre, vocal expression, and text-to-stage translation frameworks to master complex theatrical concepts.
Textual Analysis & Devising Scaffolding: Train pupils to a high technical standard in constructing original devised pieces and interpreting scripted texts, utilizing structured annotation models, explicit genre-specific vocabulary instruction, and character-building templates.
GCSE Performance Optimization: Guide Year 11 examination cohorts meticulously through the rigorous demands of linear terminal papers and practical moderation components, utilizing formative test data to isolate and eliminate performance anxiety and maximize high-grade boundary retention.
Closing Performance & Attainment Gaps: Identify and target learning barriers within mixed-ability cohorts, deploying explicit command-word instruction, scaffolded blocking structures, and visual prompt models to ensure accessibility for SEND pupils while stretching high-prior-attaining critical and creative thinkers.
Inclusive Pastoral Support & Production Leadership: Fulfill full form tutor responsibilities within an established year group structure, supporting pupil wellbeing, managing daily registration routines, and contributing enthusiastically to the academy's vibrant co-curricular program and major school productions.
PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching credential, paired with a strong honours degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, Performing Arts, or a closely related creative humanities discipline.
Pedagogical Capability: A proven track record or clear capacity to deliver strong progress metrics and exceptional performance outcomes in terminal public GCSE specifications through highly structured, systematic, and explicit performance pedagogy.
