Data Manager - School Information

The school is an established Secondary School in Peterborough with a strong focus on student achievement and effective school organisation.

Accurate data is essential to the school's ability to monitor progress, identify areas for improvement and support students effectively.

The Data Manager will work with senior leaders, teachers, pastoral teams and administrators to ensure information is accurate, accessible and handled appropriately.

Data Manager - The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing student information

  • Maintaining the school's MIS

  • Updating student records

  • Processing admissions

  • Processing leavers

  • Supporting student transfers

  • Producing attendance reports

  • Supporting assessment data collection

  • Producing assessment reports

  • Checking data accuracy

  • Identifying inconsistencies

  • Supporting senior leaders with reports

  • Supporting statutory data returns

  • Maintaining confidential records

  • Managing data deadlines

  • Supporting teachers with data queries

  • Producing spreadsheets

  • Analysing student information

  • Maintaining reporting systems

  • Supporting school improvement processes

  • Ensuring information is stored appropriately

Data Manager - Assessment

You will support the school's assessment processes and ensure information is collected and recorded accurately.

You may be responsible for preparing data ahead of reporting periods and producing information for teachers and senior leaders.

The successful candidate will need to work carefully to deadlines and understand the importance of accurate assessment information.

Data Manager - MIS

Strong experience with school information systems will be advantageous.

Experience with systems such as SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom or similar would be particularly useful.

You should be confident navigating databases, entering information and producing reports.

Data Manager - Excel and Reporting

Excellent spreadsheet skills will be important.

You should be comfortable filtering, sorting and analysing information and producing clear reports for colleagues.

The successful candidate needs to be analytical but also able to explain data clearly to staff who may not have a technical background.

Data Manager - Experience and Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous school data experience

  • MIS experience
