We are seeking a nurturing, enthusiastic, and dedicated Nursery Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive early years setting within a primary school in Greenwich, starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about early childhood development and committed to providing young children with a positive and engaging start to their education. As a Nursery Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality early years provision aligned with the EYFS framework. You will create a balance of structured learning and play-based experiences that support children’s social, emotional, physical, and academic development. Building strong relationships with children and families will be central to your role.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging nursery sessions in line with the EYFS framework
- Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment
- Support children’s development across all areas of learning
- Use observation and assessment to track progress and inform planning
- Differentiate activities to meet the needs of all children, including SEND and EAL
- Promote positive behaviour, routines, and independence
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and Early Years staff
- Build strong partnerships with parents and carers
- Maintain accurate learning journals, records, and assessments
- Contribute to EYFS planning, moderation, and whole-school initiatives
- Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an EYFS teaching qualification
- Have experience teaching in Nursery or Early Years
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the EYFS framework
- Be nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic
- Have excellent classroom organisation and behaviour management skills
- Be creative, reflective, and adaptable
- Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing
