We are recruiting a committed Year 4 Teacher for a well-resourced Oxford primary.

The Year 4 Teacher will design and deliver coherent, knowledge-rich sequences across the curriculum, lead focused interventions, contribute to phase moderation and support enrichment programmes. This Year 4 Teacher role begins January 2026, and induction and handover will be provided before January 2026 so the Year 4 Teacher can be classroom-ready.

About the role

The Year 4 Teacher will plan progressive units that build long-term memory and vocabulary, deliver high-quality guided reading and maths reasoning sessions, and run small-group tuition to accelerate progress. The Year 4 Teacher will apply assessment to identify priorities and will collaborate with subject leads across Oxford to develop resources and share best practice. The Year 4 Teacher will also support transition work and whole-school improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver ambitious Year 4 lessons with purposeful differentiation and challenge.
  • Lead targeted small-group intervention and evaluate impact on pupil outcomes.
  • Contribute to curriculum mapping, moderation and cross-curricular projects in Oxford.
  • Communicate attainment and next steps to parents and contribute to reporting cycles.
  • Support enrichment, trips and extracurricular opportunities that broaden learning.

Person specification

  • Qualified teacher with proven Year 4/KS2 experience and a track record of improving outcomes.
  • Excellent planning, assessment and behaviour-management skills; collaborative and reflective.
  • Committed to professional development and ready to start January 2026 in Oxford.
