An inclusive and ambitious primary school in Oxford is seeking a reflective and energetic Year 3 Teacher to join the Key Stage 2 phase from January 2026. The successful Year 3 Teacher will plan and teach sequenced units across English, mathematics and the foundation subjects, lead guided reading and comprehension sessions, and deliver targeted small-group support. This Year 3 Teacher post in Oxford includes a full handover and induction before January 2026, with the Year 3 Teacher in post from January 2026.

The Year 3 Teacher will use assessment effectively to identify gaps, adapt planning to meet a range of needs and run booster groups to secure rapid progress. The Year 3 Teacher will collaborate with teaching assistants, contribute to year-group moderation and support enrichment activities across Oxford. The school offers strong CPD, supportive leadership and a professional environment for the Year 3 Teacher to develop.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver progressive Year 3 lessons that develop vocabulary, fluency and reasoning.
  • Lead guided-reading and small-group teaching to close gaps and extend curious learners.
  • Use formative assessment to set next steps, track progress and inform planning.
  • Work with TAs to scaffold learning and adapt resources for diverse needs.
  • Communicate progress clearly with families and participate in moderation across Oxford.
Person specification
  • Qualified Teacher Status with demonstrable Year 3/KS2 experience and positive outcomes.
  • Secure subject knowledge in early KS2 reading, writing and mathematics.
  • Strong classroom routines, calm behaviour management and assessment literacy.
  • Collaborative, reflective and committed to the Oxford school community; available to start January 2026.
