The Role

  • Preparing chemicals, solutions, and apparatus for practical Chemistry lessons across KS3–KS5
  • Supporting advanced practical investigations at GCSE and A Level
  • Ensuring safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals in line with COSHH regulations
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment and coordinating servicing or repairs
  • Managing chemical stock control and maintaining accurate inventories
  • Assisting teachers with risk assessments and updating safety documentation
  • Supporting the preparation and administration of required practical assessments
  • Ensuring laboratories remain compliant, organised, and safe at all times
  • Liaising with other Science technicians to ensure smooth departmental operations

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Previous laboratory or Chemistry-based experience (school or industry)
  • Strong understanding of COSHH and laboratory safety procedures
