Chemistry Teacher

A renowned Secondary School in Oxford is seeking a professional and highly organised Chemistry Teacher to join their experienced and collaborative Science faculty. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day instructional support across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, focusing on chemical equations, atomic structure, molecular kinetics, and practical laboratory investigative frameworks. Responsibilities will include maintaining student progress records, updating school tracking systems, managing departmental correspondence, supporting attendance administration, and assisting with the organisation of scientific events, laboratory experiments, and STEM initiatives.

You will also support communication with parents, students, and external scientific networks while ensuring that information is handled professionally and confidentially at all times. Strong organisational skills are essential, as the role requires the ability to balance classroom teaching with laboratory safety protocols and manage multiple responsibilities within a busy school environment.

The school is looking for someone who is proactive, reliable, and able to work efficiently both independently and as part of a collaborative science faculty. Good IT skills and confidence using digital learning tracking systems are important, alongside strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • Previous teaching or relevant instructional experience in Chemistry up to GCSE and A-Level
