The Role
  • Teaching Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4, specialising in Resistant Materials or Product Design.
  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons that balance technical theory with workshop practice.
  • Supporting pupils with their NEA (Non-Exam Assessment) and the development of design portfolios.
  • Promoting high standards of workshop safety, tool maintenance, and health & safety compliance.
  • Encouraging creativity, precision, and independence in design-and-make sessions.
  • Utilizing modern technology, including CAD/CAM and 3D printing, to enhance student projects.
  • Contributing to wider school initiatives and extracurricular design challenges or STEM clubs.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Currently working towards or recently completed Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • A degree in Design & Technology, Engineering, Product Design, or a related subject.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the confidence to deliver practical workshop lessons.
  • High expectations for pupil engagement, behaviour, and the quality of practical outcomes.
  • A professional, organised, and positive approach to departmental teamwork.
  • A commitment to maintaining a safe and inspiring technical environment for all students.
