In a town with a proud industrial legacy and a rapidly transforming educational sector, this school is looking for a specialist who can provide the "engine room" of information required to drive school improvement. You will be the architect of the school’s Management Information System (MIS), ensuring that every assessment, attendance mark, and progress report is accurate, accessible, and actionable.
Core Responsibilities
- MIS Strategic Oversight: Taking full responsibility for the management and development of the school’s MIS (Arbor, Bromcom, or SIMS), ensuring data integrity across all modules.
- Assessment & Reporting: Designing and managing the school’s assessment cycles, producing high-quality progress reports for parents, and providing detailed "Value Added" analysis for Senior Leadership.
- Statutory Compliance: Leading on all statutory data returns, including the School Census, Workforce Census, and results day processing, ensuring 100% accuracy and deadline adherence.
- Exam Data Integration: Working closely with the Exams Officer to ensure seamless data flow between internal tracking systems and external awarding bodies.
- Timetable Support: Assisting with the construction and maintenance of the school timetable, managing room changes, and ensuring staff and student schedules are optimised.
- Data Visualisation: Translating complex datasets into clear, visual dashboards for Governors and Ofsted, highlighting trends in student attainment and demographic gaps.
Why This School?
- Oldham’s Educational Ambition: Work in a borough that is investing heavily in digital infrastructure and data-led teaching strategies.
- Senior Strategic Role: Join an operations team where your insights directly influence the school’s development plan and resource allocation.
- Modern Tech Stack: Benefit from a well-equipped office and the latest analytical software (e.g., Power BI, Sisra, or 4Matrix) to enhance your reporting capabilities.
- Professional Development: Access to specialist data management CPD, advanced Excel certification, and pathways into School Business Leadership or Trust-wide Data Directorship.
Candidate Profile
- Experience: Proven experience in a data-rich environment, ideally within a school or educational setting.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex formulae, macros, and pivot tables) and deep familiarity with school MIS architecture.
- Analytical Mindset: The ability to spot patterns, identify anomalies, and provide insightful commentary on educational performance data.
