Our client is seeking an ambitious and resilient Attendance & Welfare Officer to manage daily register monitoring and persistent absence interventions across the school. Working out of a heavily resourced pastoral hub, you will act as a crucial link between pupils, parents, heads of year, and external education welfare officers (EWOs).
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out morning registration checks
- Conducting daily home contacts for unexplained absences
- Organizing targeted early intervention meetings with parents
- Maintaining meticulous attendance data on school databases (such as SIMS or Arbor)
- Conducting home visits where necessary
- Designing bespoke attendance reward frameworks
- Preparing legally compliant documentation for statutory local authority panels regarding persistent truanting
