Inspire Young Learners at the Start of Key Stage 1. We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join our welcoming primary school in Nottingham, starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who wants to make a real difference in the lives of young learners at a pivotal stage of their education.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 1 class, planning and delivering engaging, high-quality lessons across the curriculum. You will play a key role in helping pupils consolidate their learning from Reception, develop independence, and build confidence as they move through Key Stage 1. Role Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate lessons across all areas of the Year 1 curriculum
- Assess pupil progress regularly and adapt teaching to meet individual needs
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
- Promote positive behaviour, routines, and social development
- Collaborate with colleagues, teaching assistants, and senior leaders to ensure high standards
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers about pupil progress and achievements
- Participate in staff meetings, CPD sessions, and school-wide initiatives
- Support pupils’ transition from Early Years Foundation Stage to Key Stage 1

- Qualified with QTS and experienced in Key Stage 1 teaching
- Knowledgeable about literacy, numeracy, and the wider curriculum
