We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 1 Class Teacher to join our inclusive and high-achieving primary school in Nottingham from January 2026. This is a permanent position, open to full-time and part-time applicants, with potential for a TLR for subject or phase leadership for the right candidate.

The Role

  • Position: Year 1 Class Teacher

  • Contract: Permanent – Full-Time or Part-Time Considered
  • TLR: Available for Subject or Phase Leadership (for the right candidate)

As our Year 1 Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging, phonics-rich lessons that develop early reading and writing skills.
  • Prepare pupils for the Phonics Screening Check where applicable.
  • Plan learning that secures strong foundations in number, vocabulary and confidence.
  • Use formative assessment to adapt teaching and promote progress for all pupils.
  • Create a nurturing classroom culture where pupils feel safe, valued and challenge-seeking.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents to support every child’s development.
  • (If applicable) Lead a subject or phase area as part of a TLR opportunity.

What We’re Looking For

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Have experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally Year 1.
  • Have a secure knowledge of phonics, early reading, early maths and behaviour management.
  • Are reflective, organised and excellent communicators.
  • Demonstrate creativity, energy and a commitment to inclusion.
  • Thrive in a collaborative school environment and are open to leadership responsibilities.
