About the Role
The successful candidate will deliver engaging and well-structured Science lessons that encourage students to question, investigate and understand the world around them. You will create a positive learning environment where pupils can develop practical skills, strengthen scientific knowledge and build confidence in Biology, Chemistry and Physics, depending on your specialism.
Responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering high-quality Science lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Making scientific concepts accessible through engaging explanations and practical activities.
- Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.
- Adapting teaching to support pupils with different abilities and learning needs.
- Maintaining positive behaviour and high classroom expectations.
- Collaborating with colleagues to share resources and improve teaching practice.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Strong subject knowledge in Science, with a specialism in Biology, Chemistry or Physics welcomed.
- Effective classroom management and communication skills.
- The ability to engage students and encourage independent scientific thinking.
