Maths Teacher Role in a High-Achieving Academy

A high-achieving and forward-thinking Academy in Nottingham is seeking to appoint an ambitious and enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join its thriving Mathematics department from September. About the Role

The successful candidate will teach Mathematics across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging lessons that inspire confidence, resilience, and a genuine enjoyment of the subject.

Students are encouraged to develop strong mathematical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and analytical thinking through a carefully sequenced curriculum. Whether introducing algebra at KS3 or preparing sixth form students for A-Level examinations, you will deliver high-quality teaching that supports exceptional progress and achievement.

Beyond the classroom, you will contribute to intervention programmes, curriculum development, and enrichment opportunities including Maths Challenges, STEM initiatives, and university preparation activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Mathematics across KS3, KS4, and KS5

  • Deliver engaging, challenging, and differentiated lessons

  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations

  • Monitor progress and provide high-quality feedback

  • Support intervention programmes to raise attainment

  • Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development

  • Promote participation in STEM events, maths competitions, and enrichment activities

  • Build positive relationships that encourage confidence and academic success

Candidate Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level

  • Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently

  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for Mathematics

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience teaching A-Level Mathematics

  • Ability to deliver Further Mathematics

  • Experience contributing to STEM enrichment programmes

  • A track record of securing excellent student outcomes
