A forward-thinking school in Nottingham is recruiting an IT Technician to provide technical support, device management and classroom-systems maintenance. The IT Technician will handle helpdesk requests, image and deploy devices, maintain the asset inventory and support network and AV systems. This position begins January 2026, with an induction programme and handover planned before January 2026 to ensure a smooth start.
About the role: The IT Technician will deliver first-line technical support, manage device rollouts and returns, assist with Wi-Fi troubleshooting and support teachers with classroom technology. The IT Technician will maintain software patching schedules, assist with backups and help ensure basic cybersecurity hygiene across the Nottingham site.
Key responsibilities:
- Respond to technical issues, diagnose faults and resolve hardware and software problems in a timely manner.
- Image and deploy laptops/tablets, track assets and maintain an accurate register across Nottingham.
- Support classroom AV, interactive whiteboards and remote-learning set-ups; liaise with external suppliers for specialist fixes.
- Maintain software updates, antivirus measures and assist with routine IT maintenance and backups.
- Provide clear guidance to staff and pupils on using systems safely and effectively.
Person specification:
- Experience in IT support or as an IT Technician with hands-on device and basic networking skills.
- Calm, methodical problem-solver with good communication skills suitable for working in Nottingham.
- Able to start January 2026, attend induction and manage both reactive support and small-scale projects.
