A high-performing secondary school in West Bridgford, Nottingham is looking to appoint a motivated Facilities Officer to join its premises team on a full-time, permanent basis with an ASAP start. You'll play a key role in ensuring the school site remains safe, secure, and well maintained, while working alongside a supportive leadership team that values the contribution of every member of staff.
The Role
Reporting to the Site Manager, you'll help oversee the smooth day-to-day operation of the school's buildings and grounds, ensuring facilities are maintained to the highest standards. Your responsibilities will include:
- Opening and securing the school site when required
- Carrying out planned maintenance, minor repairs, and general upkeep
- Responding efficiently to maintenance requests from staff
- Completing routine Health & Safety inspections and compliance checks
- Supporting fire safety, asbestos, legionella, and site security procedures
- Assisting with the supervision of contractors and external maintenance works
- Setting up halls, classrooms, and sports facilities for events and examinations
- Maintaining the appearance of the school buildings, grounds, and outdoor spaces
- Supporting ongoing refurbishment and improvement projects across the site

The Successful Candidate
Applications are welcomed from experienced Facilities Officers, Premises Assistants, Caretakers, Estates Assistants, Maintenance Operatives, or candidates with experience in facilities management, property maintenance, or building services. You'll be practical, reliable, and organised, with a proactive approach to maintenance and a good understanding of Health & Safety responsibilities. Strong communication skills and the ability to manage a varied workload are essential.
