A well-regarded secondary school in Beeston, Nottingham is seeking a dedicated Facilities Officer to join its premises team on a full-time, permanent basis with an ASAP start. This is an excellent opportunity for a practical and proactive individual to join a busy school where no two days are the same. You'll play an essential role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment, ensuring students and staff can focus on teaching and learning while the school operates efficiently behind the scenes.
The Role
- Working alongside the Site Manager, you'll help maintain the school's buildings, grounds, and facilities while ensuring compliance with all relevant Health & Safety regulations.
- Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the opening and closing of the school site
- Carrying out planned maintenance, minor repairs, and general DIY tasks
- Responding promptly to day-to-day maintenance requests
- Completing routine site inspections and reporting any issues
- Supporting statutory compliance, including fire safety, asbestos, legionella, and Health & Safety checks
- Liaising with contractors and monitoring maintenance works
- Preparing classrooms, halls, and sports facilities for school events and examinations
- Helping to maintain a clean, safe, and well-presented school environment
- Supporting ongoing improvement and refurbishment projects
