CORE PURPOSE
We require an ambitious, intellectually rigorous Design & Technology (DT) Teacher to deliver high-quality product design, systems, and engineering instruction across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The role involves facilitating a challenging, industry-linked academic curriculum while leveraging advanced workshop machinery to foster deep technical inquiry, spatial reasoning, and material mastery.
KEY TASKS & DAILY OPERATIONS
- Curriculum Design & Instruction: Plan, resource, and deliver highly structured, evidence-based DT lessons covering material properties, computer-aided design (CAD), and electronic systems.
- Workshop Leadership: Coordinate and execute safe, engaging practical manufacturing tasks, ensuring pupils master foundational hand tools, timber/polymer processing, and workshop safety protocols.
- Academic Progress Monitoring: Implement rigorous formative and summative assessment routines, utilising pupil tracking data to design sharp, targeted interventions that bridge learning gaps.
- Examination Preparation: Guide Key Stage 4 cohorts systematically through the demands of terminal GCSE Product Design or technical engineering specifications, maximising progress outcomes for all learners.
- Pastoral Care Integration: Undertake full form tutor responsibilities, managing daily registration, monitoring pupil attendance, and delivering the school's structured personal development units.
