A friendly, community-focused Good primary school in Northampton seeks a warm, energetic Year 1 Teacher to join its KS1 phase on a Full-Time basis from January 2026. The successful Year 1 Teacher will be invited to pre-term planning sessions prior to January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and be fully in-class from January 2026 as a Full-Time Year 1 Teacher.

Year 1 Teacher Responsibilities:

The appointed Year 1 Teacher will plan and deliver daily systematic phonics, guided reading and creative writing lessons. The Year 1 Teacher will design practical maths sequences to build number sense and problem-solving. The Year 1 Teacher will use formative assessment to identify gaps, run targeted small-group interventions and report progress to families. The Year 1 Teacher will also contribute to enrichment, lead class trips and support transition into Year 2, all activities prepared in the run-up to January 2026 and carried out after January 2026.

Year 1 Teacher Requirements:

  • QTS (or equivalent) and recent KS1 experience as a Year 1 Teacher.
  • Strong phonics expertise expected of the Year 1 Teacher and confident behaviour management.
  • A creative, reflective Year 1 Teacher who will attend pre-term planning before January 2026, complete induction in January 2026 and teach as a Full-Time Year 1 Teacher from January 2026.

Start & contract details:
