About the Role
As a Science Teacher, you will deliver engaging and well-structured lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching Key Stage 5 depending on your subject specialism and experience. Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering high-quality Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Teaching Biology, Chemistry, or Physics depending on your specialism
- Delivering practical experiments and investigations in a safe and engaging way
- Monitoring pupil progress through assessment and effective feedback
- Differentiating lessons to support pupils of varying abilities
- Maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment
- Contributing to curriculum planning and departmental collaboration
- Supporting enrichment opportunities such as STEM clubs or science competitions
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
- Have strong subject knowledge in Science
- Demonstrate the ability to deliver engaging and structured lessons
- Have excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Be committed to supporting pupils’ academic progress and curiosity in science
- Be enthusiastic about working collaboratively within a successful department
