An independent School in Northampton is recruiting a caring and creative Reception Teacher to begin in January 2026. This full-time Reception Teacher role is based in a strong Early Years team where the Reception Teacher will prepare resources before January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and teach from January 2026 as the Reception Teacher. The Independent School context offers small class sizes and specialist support for young children’s development.

A day in the life of the Reception Teacher:

  • Morning: the Reception Teacher leads welcome routines, systematic phonics, shared reading and scaffolded adult-led activities to develop early literacy and number sense.
  • Midday: the Reception Teacher coordinates safe outdoor play and supports social development.
  • Afternoon: the Reception Teacher records observations, plans next steps and liaises with families.

Across the week, the Reception Teacher runs focused interventions and contributes to whole-school assemblies and enrichment, all aligned to the January 2026 start.
