CORE PURPOSE
We require an inspiring, mathematically adept Physics Teacher to deliver outstanding physics instruction across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential to contribute to Key Stage 5. Operating within a collaborative comprehensive secondary school, the successful candidate will facilitate a structured, practical-led curriculum designed to foster deep scientific enquiry, analytical reasoning, and confident mathematical problem-solving skills, preparing all pupils thoroughly for terminal GCSE Combined Science and Separate Physics public examinations.

Closing Attainment Gaps: Identify and target learning barriers, deploying structured scaffolding, concrete visual models, and targeted literacy interventions to accelerate the progress of all pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEND).
Rigorous Laboratory Leadership: Manage busy school laboratory spaces with flawless adherence to CLEAPSS health and safety standards, teaching safe experimental techniques, error analysis, and the proper handling of scientific and electrical apparatus.
GCSE Performance Tracking: Guide Year 11 cohorts systematically through the demands of terminal Foundation and Higher tier GCSE Science and Physics papers, meticulously analysing mock scripts to eliminate mathematical misconceptions and maximise high-grade boundary retention.
Community Pastoral Care: Fulfil full form tutor responsibilities within an established year group structure, managing daily registration, delivering pastoral curriculum units, and maintaining proactive, supportive communication with families.
PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching credential, paired with a strong honours degree in Physics, Astrophysics, Engineering, or a closely related quantitative scientific discipline.
Pedagogical Capability: A proven track record or clear capacity to deliver strong progress metrics and mathematical confidence in terminal public GCSE examinations across both Combined and Separate Science pathways.
