CORE PURPOSE
We require an engaging, highly articulate French Teacher to deliver outstanding Modern Foreign Language (MFL) instruction across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. Operating within a rapidly growing Free School framework, the successful candidate will facilitate a structured, communication-led curriculum designed to foster deep grammatical fluency, accurate pronunciation, cultural literacy, and confident spontaneous speaking skills, preparing all pupils thoroughly for terminal GCSE French public examinations.

KEY TASKS & DAILY OPERATIONS
Communication-Led MFL Instruction: Plan, resource, and deliver high-quality French lessons across all attainment pathways, embedding consistent retrieval practice to cement phonics, extensive vocabulary structures, and complex tenses.
Closing Lingual Attainment Gaps: Identify and target language learning barriers, deploying structured scaffolding, interactive digital listening resources, and targeted literacy interventions to accelerate the progress of all pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEND).
Rigorous Examination Preparation: Guide Year 11 cohorts systematically through the demands of terminal Foundation and Higher tier GCSE French papers, teaching explicit strategies for the listening, reading, writing, and formal speaking components.
Data-Driven Progress Monitoring: Meticulously analyse formative assessment data, mock speaking recordings, and writing scripts to pinpoint specific grammatical weaknesses, deploying immediate, targeted conjugation and translation workshops.
Community Pastoral Care: Fulfil full form tutor responsibilities within an established year group structure, managing daily registration, delivering global citizenship units, and maintaining proactive, supportive communication with families.
PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching credential, paired with a strong honours degree in French Studies, Modern Foreign Languages, or a closely related linguistic discipline.
Pedagogical Capability: A proven track record or clear capacity to deliver strong progress metrics in terminal public GCSE examinations across both Foundation and Higher tenses through structured, high-impact language pedagogy.
