An independent secondary school in Northampton is seeking an enthusiastic and creative DT Teacher to join its successful Design & Technology department. The role offers an excellent opportunity to teach practical and theory-based lessons while encouraging students to develop their creativity, technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
The successful candidate will deliver an engaging DT curriculum across KS3 and KS4, with opportunities to teach KS5 depending on experience. Students will develop practical skills through areas such as product design, resistant materials, CAD/CAM and design development.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach engaging Design & Technology lessons across KS3-KS5
- Deliver practical and theoretical aspects of the curriculum
- Support students with coursework, projects and exam preparation
- Develop students' confidence with materials, tools and design processes
- Maintain high standards of workshop health and safety
- Assess work and provide constructive feedback
- Contribute to curriculum planning and enrichment activities
Candidate Requirements
- QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
- Degree in Design & Technology or a related subject
- Experience teaching DT at secondary level
- Strong practical and classroom management skills
- A creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching
