We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and committed Business Teacher to join a highly successful and oversubscribed grammar school in Northampton. The successful candidate will teach Business Studies across Key Stages 4 and 5, delivering engaging and challenging lessons that develop students’ understanding of enterprise, economics, finance and the wider business world. The Role

As a Business Teacher, you will plan, deliver and assess high-quality lessons that challenge students and support excellent academic progress. You will encourage students to think critically, apply business concepts to real-world contexts, and develop confidence in analysis, evaluation and decision-making. The role will also involve contributing to enrichment opportunities and the wider life of the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and assess engaging Business Studies lessons across Key Stages 4 and 5
  • Develop students’ understanding of business concepts through relevant real-world examples and case studies
  • Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and inform future planning
  • Differentiating teaching to support and challenge learners of all abilities
  • Create a positive, ambitious and inclusive classroom environment
  • Encourage independent learning, resilience and academic confidence
  • Contribute to departmental planning, curriculum development and improvement initiatives
  • Participate in enrichment activities and wider school opportunities
  • Support students with progression pathways including further education and careers

The Ideal Candidate

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be an Early Career Teacher completing training
  • Have experience teaching Business Studies at KS4, with KS5 experience desirable
  • Be passionate about Business and able to inspire high-achieving students
  • Have excellent subject knowledge and a commitment to academic excellence
  • Possess strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Be reflective, organised and committed to continuous professional development
  • Have a positive, collaborative approach to working with colleagues
