A successful secondary school in Northampton is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and proactive Attendance Officer to join its experienced pastoral team. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who understands the importance of attendance in improving student achievement and enjoys working collaboratively with families, staff and external agencies to promote excellent attendance across the school.
Working alongside Heads of Year, the Attendance Lead and safeguarding staff, you will monitor attendance, identify concerns and coordinate intervention strategies that support students to attend school consistently. The successful candidate will become an important part of the school's wider pastoral provision while ensuring attendance procedures remain accurate, efficient and fully compliant.

Attendance Team
The Attendance Team is dedicated to promoting positive attendance while supporting students and families to overcome barriers that may affect school attendance.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring daily attendance and punctuality.
- Contacting parents regarding unexplained absences.
- Producing attendance reports and analysing attendance data.
- Identifying persistent absence and implementing interventions.
- Meeting with parents and carers to discuss attendance concerns.
- Liaising with external agencies and the Local Authority.
- Supporting Heads of Year with attendance improvement strategies.
- Maintaining accurate attendance records using the school's MIS.
- Promoting whole-school attendance initiatives.
- Ensuring statutory attendance guidance is followed.
- Maintaining confidential student records.
- Providing administrative support to the pastoral team where required.

Requirements
- Previous attendance, pastoral or school administration experience is desirable.
