Psychology Teacher

A supportive and well-led secondary school in Newcastle is seeking an enthusiastic Psychology Teacher to join its Humanities faculty. This is a strong opportunity for a practitioner who is passionate about delivering engaging and academically rigorous Psychology teaching within a structured school environment.

The successful candidate will teach Psychology across KS4 and KS5, delivering well-planned lessons that develop students’ understanding of key psychological approaches, including cognitive, behavioural, biological, and psychodynamic perspectives. You will also teach core topics such as memory, attachment, social influence, and research methods.

You will be expected to maintain high standards of classroom practice, using assessment data effectively to monitor progress and inform teaching strategies. The ability to adapt lessons to meet the needs of different learners is essential.

The role also includes contributing to departmental planning, assessment design, and resource development, working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistency and high standards across the department.

Requirements

Ability to teach Psychology KS4–KS5

Formal teaching qualification with QTS (or equivalent)
