Role Overview
A dynamic and supportive secondary school in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking an inspiring and literate English Teacher to join its dedicated English department. This full-time, permanent position involves delivering high-quality English Language and English Literature lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with opportunities to teach A-Level English for suitably qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

Teaching: Plan and deliver engaging, structured English Language and Literature lessons across KS3βKS4 (and KS5 where applicable), unpacking complex texts and writing techniques.

Student Outcomes: Monitor student attainment, lead targeted GCSE revision workshops, and prepare pupils thoroughly for national examinations.

Departmental Contribution: Contribute to scheme-of-work development, promote reading initiatives across the school, and support extra-curricular clubs such as debate or creative writing societies.

Qualifications: Relevant degree in English Literature, English Language, or a closely related discipline alongside QTS or PGCE.

Skills: Strong subject knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to foster analytical thinking and creative expression in the classroom.
